1964 Press Photo Mayor Victor Schiro and Naval Reserve officers view invitation

Looking over an invitation from Mayor Victor H. Schiro to Mayor Robert Wagner of New York City, inviting Mayor Wagner to the Sesquicentennial Celebration of the Battle of New Orleans are (from left) Schiro, Lieutenant Commander Leonard A. Hudak and Lieutenant Commander Ralph E. Smith. The officers and their Naval Reserve crews were charged by Mayor Schiro to deliver the invitation when their destroyer escorts leave for New York City on training exercises. Lieutenant Commander Smith is commander officer to the USS Huse and Lieutenant Commander Hudak is officer-in-charge of the fourth section of the USS Woodson. The celebration will be held here January 1-8.
