1966 Press Photo Delegates to Pelican Girls' State at Louisiana State University

Happy group off for Pelican Girls' State at Louisiana State University. Laden with electric fans, pillows and "political" ambitions, more than 100 teenage girls left New Orleans today for Pelican Girls State to be held on the Louisiana State University campus in Baton Rouge. The session, sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, will continue until August 23. The girls will learn the functions of various state officials and will run for office in a general election.
