Katie O'Connor just went along with a friend to bolster her courage for a job interview, and 21 years later, she wrote her own retirement papers. Fellow office workers at the Army Transportation Terminal toasted their beaming favorite in high style the other night, from orchid corsage to gold St. Christopher medal for her new charm bracelet, to companion her first retirement fun: a trip to Williamsburg, without having to hurry back. Fun won't suffice indefinitely, through, sage Mrs. O'Connor knows already. She has her eye on volunteer social work "and maybe a part-time job."
