Rear Admiral Emmet O'Beirne of New Orleans, Navy deputy chief of staff and deputy chief for plans, policy and operations to NATO's supreme allied commander, Atlantic, has been assigned to duty as chief of the US Military assistance advisory group, Portugal, in Lisbon. He will relieve Rear Admiral Wallis F. Peterson in August.
