1965 Press Photo Final electrical connection made from nuclear generator in Gulf

Stanley Seiken, Atomic Energy Commission project manager, makes final electrical connection from the nuclear generator to an electronic foghorn and two flashing beacon lights on the offshore oil and gas platform of the Phillips Petroleum Company and Kerr-McGee Oil Company in the Gulf of Mexico. Operation of the generator represents first commercial use of a nuclear powered device.
