1968 Press Photo First Lieutenant William O. Meyer honored with Combat "V" Medal

First Lieutenant William O. Meyer, maintenance officer oft eh marine Air Reserve Training Detachment, was presented the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat "V." An excerpt from his citation said he was honored for "meritorious service while serving as individual material readiness list officer with Headquarters, First Marine Aircraft Wing in connection with operations against insurgent Communist (Viet Cong) forces in the Republic of Vietnam from April 12, 1967 to May 4, 1968.
