Washington--Meyers, Wife After Verdict--Major General Bennett E. Meyers and Mrs. Meyers leave federal district court building (background) today after a federal jury convicted him on charges of inducing a witness to lie to a senate committee. The wartime deputy Air Forces Purchasing Chief will be sentenced Monday. He was released on bond until then. Freed from jail after three years in prison on a charge of inducing an associate to swear falsely before a Senate committee, former Air Force Major General Bennett E. Meyers was arrested promptly at Washington on charges of evading income taxes. The tax case involves reported 1941 income of $3808, while the government charges Meyer's actual income was $36,301.
