Leon Miller- A 65-year-old liquor store clerk was beaten on the head with a hammer at 8 p.m. Wednesday in an attempted armed robbery at the R. Theriot liquor store, 2704 La Salle. Leon Miller, 4611 Marigny, was treated at Charity hospital for lacerations of the head and transferred to Hotel Dieu. His condition was undetermined.
