Melaine Mintz, 17-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Leon Mintx, 4279 Vendome Place is the newly elected regional vice-president of the Southern Federation of Temple Youth (SOFTY), following the group's recent semi-annual session in Shreveport. Miss Mintz, a junior student at Isidore Newman School, was chosen by delegates from SOFTY groups from Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas and Western Tennessee at the meeting. A member of the Touro Synagogue Youth Group, she was one of some 30 New Orleanians attending the regional sessions.
