Holding the white mice he rescued from the second story of a burning building at 1418 North Robertson Tuesday evening is firefighter Joseph Miller, truck 11, First District. Miller did not carry the mice down a ladder, but enough drama was provided when he saved their lives by emptying their plastic container of water from fire hoses. The mice were floating and shoving their noses up through the wire mesh for air, he said.
