The American Jew who feels no obligation to support the cause of Israel is in the minority, but if he does give that support he demonstrates that he is a "better American," an Israeli leader said here Thursday. Major General Haim Laskov, 41-year-old retired chief-of-staff of Israel's defense forces, is in New Orleans on a nation-wide speaking tour for United Jewish Appeal. A gust at the Royal Orleans hotel, he addressed volunteer workers of the current Jewish Welfare Fund drive at a meeting Thursday night in International House.
