1966 Press Photo Leukemia Society Inc. drive booth opens on Canal Street

Among the first contributors at the Leukemia Society Inc., both Monday, manned here by Jesuit High School Senior Gerard Stamm (left) are Eads Poitevent, campaign chairman; Judge David Gertler; and Mrs. Branch J. Aymond, president of the society. The booths are located in front of 923 Canal and 900 Canal and will be manned daily through June 18, except Sundays, by high school volunteers and members of civic and charitable organizations. A three-hour "residential march" is scheduled Tuesday on a block-by-block basis, with about 800 women soliciting contributions from 6 to 9 p.m.
