Elaine LeBlanc of Port Barre, champion yam cook of Louisiana, whips up a dish of yam ginger cup cakes to get into practice for demonstrations she will give in Detroit, Michigan. Miss LeBlanc, 18, won her title at the 1965 Yambilee in Opelousas. She will be an honored guest of the Louisiana Sweet Potato Commission on Yambilee Good Will Tour of Detroit, August 21-27. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. LeBlanc.
