1956 Press Photo Oswald Jacoby in the 1963 contract bridge competition

Oswald Jacoby of Dallas scored 1,034 master points in 1963 contract bridge competition- the first time any player has collected more than 1,000 points in a single year. The American Contract Bridge League announced today in New York it has awarded him the William E. McKenney trophy for the third consecutive year and the fourth time in the last five years.
