1967 Press Photo Ophelia Jackson receives the Purple Heart in behalf of Late son

A DEAD SOLDIER'S mother Mrs. Ophelia Jackson of New Orleans, accepts the Purple Heart and an accompanying citation in memory of her 19-year-old son, Private First Class Edward G. Lacey, who was killed in Vietnam on May 28. The award was made for wounds Lacey received in combat which resulted in his death. Making the presentation Monday in the old Camp Leroy Johnson Headquarters Building is Lieutenant Colonel Brigade. Edward P. Dardis Sr., senior advisor to the 377th Support Brigade.
