1968 Press Photo Interstate Highway at 17th Street Canal closed due to accident

A trio of deaths, those of a father and his two children, might have been prevented had this gap between Interstate Highway bridges at the 17th Street Canal been closed with a fence or roadway fenders. Dotted line follows tire marks where the fatal car left the I-610 highway and plunged into the water New Year's Eve.
