Louisiana sportsmen are concerned about a fast-growing aquatic weed, hydrilla, that presents a far more serious threat to waterways than the better known water Lilly. Hydrilla can make a lake completely useless for recreational purposes. It spreads rapidly, reduces fish populations, contributes tot he growth of other weeds such as algae and watermeal, and for a thickly infested lake, makes navigation by boat almost impossible.
