An official of one of the world's leading newspapers said in New Orleans Wednesday that United States and British newspapers are not comparable, mainly because of the greater number of pages used here and the emphasis on advertising. Sipping a Scotch and soda minutes after arriving at his Royal Orleans Hotel room on his first New Orleans visit, L.A. Lee Howard, editor-in-chief of the London Daily Mirror, discussed American and European publications and explained the reason for his first U.S. visit as "getting an idea of America and visiting with newspaper people."
