Perhaps the world's most anti-modern writer pitched piercing verbal daggers at trends in modern literature Thursday night, charging that writers are "trying to hide their faces and the faces of others." Hans Habe, whose 14 best sellers have sold more than 7,500,000 copies sat leisurely on a couch in his suite at the Roosevelt Hotel, exhaled a volume of cigarette smoke, and said he thinks that most present-day writers are turning out works that "are not based on human characters, do not have continuous stories, and seldom are understood by the readers."
