1968 Press Photo Captain Roy J. Hamann receives award for poodle rescue

Captain Roy J. Hamann (right), riverboat skipper who rescued a poodle dog struggling in midstream of the Mississippi River, receives a special award from the Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the American Humane Association. Henry W. Dorsey, director of the SPCA here, makes the presentation.
