1958 Press Photo Warren "Bo" Giepert and Frank Lots, hold 28 pound catfish

This 50-pound Yellow catfish, hooked with light tackle on rod and reel, was landed near Sugar wharf in the Mississippi River by Warren "Bo" Giepert, right, after a 10 minute flight. Aiding in holding the giant catfish is Frank Lotz, who formerly held the catfish catch record at 28 pounds for the Algiers pair who spend a great part of their spare time at fishing. It was a double strike for Giepert, who graduated as a barber-beautician from New Orleans school yesterday.
