Claude Miller Williams, Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Charles Lange Gambel and Mr. Gambel An event claiming a great deal of interest in civic and social circles in New Orleans last week was the benefit ball given by the Debutante Club. It was held in the Grand Ball Room of the Roosevelt Hotel for the benefit of the children of the Florida Avenue Housing Project and the proceeds will be used for a character building and recreational program for the youngsters. Miss Joan Rickert, president of the club, and the officers and chairmen of the various committees received guests. Entertainment for the ball was provided by Mrs. Amelie Woolfolk Trelles and Francis J. Richardson, vocalists, and a jazz quarter composed of Dr. Edmond Souchon, William Kleppinger, Bernard Shields and Frank Mackie. Henry Dupre acted as master of ceremonies. The pictures below were snapped during the evening by Randon.
