Janet Suzanne Fowler of Alexandria, Northeast Louisiana State College sophomore, was crowned Miss Northeast for 1969 during the pageant in Monroe. First runner-up was Gail Ann Coates of Baton Rouge, and second runner-up Beth Wiggins of Delcambre. Sheila Sue McRee of Monroe received the Miss Congeniality trophy.
