1955 Press Photo Honored Firefighters From the Lele Convalescent Home Fire

Eleven firemen received citations from Councilman Fitzmorris for putting out the fire at Lele Convalescent Home, 2019 N. Roman, in which six persons died and 16 were rescued. The firemen are, front row from left, operator Sidney Dumontier, Lieutenant Joseph Rodriguez, Captain Bernard Eckhold and Lieutenant Carl J. Gardner. Back row, from left, firefighter H.J. Bauer, operator Joseph Fahrenholt, First District Fire Chief Thomas McDonough, Third District Fire Chief Albert Allain, Third District Fire Chief Edward J. O'Brien and firefighters Henry F. O'Brien and Charles Rodriguez. 11 firemen honored with certificates of merit for work in the fire at Lele Convalescent Home, 2019 North Roman, December 19th, where 6 died and 16 were rescued.
