Looking over a map of the New Iberia Air Base are, left to right, Phil Carter, administrative manager of Gulf South Research Institute, Ernest J. Fouquier Sr., president of the Iberia Parish Police Jury, and Jury Members Willie Landry and Walter Degravelle Sr. Gulf South Research Institute (GSRI) has been operating for three years at the base in 10 buildings on 450 acres acquired from the Health, Education and Welfare Administration.
