1963 Press Photo Discussing trends, members, advisory council, teacher education

Description
Discussing trends in education are Dr. Milton L. Ferguson, left, director of the school of education at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, and Dr. Cresap S. Watson, chairman of the university's English Department, and member of the institution's advisory council on teacher education. One of the virtues of starting from scratch is the opportunity to discard shop-worn shibboleths in favor of new ideas. Nowhere is this more of a virtue than in the education of teachers. Academicians and professional educators generally speaking never have been overly chummy, and that's putting it mildly.

Photo is dated 1963.

Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches.
