1972 Press Photo New Orleans Police Patrolman Justin Favalora At a Home Burglary

Looking over the scene of the burglary-shooting at 5482 Bellaire Drive Friday night is Third District Patrolman Justin Favalora, who was the object of the fleeing burglars' gunfire. Patrolman Favalora was shot at five or six times as he entered the house to stop the burglars. The policeman was not injured and the suspects remained at large late Friday night. Identity of the officer in the background was unknown. A New Orleans Police Department patrolman became the target of gunfire from two or three burglars as he attempted to halt the thugs as they ran from a fashionable home at 5482 Bellaire Drive Friday night.
