Wilfred Dowden (left), chairman of the English Department at Rice University, Houston, Texas, is the newly elected president of the South Central Modern Language Association. Richard Fogle, English professor at Tulane University, is the new vice-president. They were elected at the association's final convention meeting Friday at the Fontainebleau Motor Hotel. Mrs. Patricia K. Rickells, University of Southwestern Louisiana, Lafayette, was elected secretary.
