Winners or losers, every person who completes The Item's big $17,500 Fun and Fortune Contest will receive a book. H.C. Meyer (left) and N.J. Women will receive a copy on needlework techniques. The $12,500 first prize will go a long way in hobby enjoyment, says Meyer.
