1964 Press Photo Edgar Degas "Portrait of Estelle Musson" painting discussed

Previewing the Edgar Degas "Portrait of Estelle Musson" here Monday are (from left) James B. Byrnes, director of Delgado Museum of Art; Mrs. John Prados, granddaughter of the subject of the painting, and Miss Charlotte Andry, a senior at Louise S. McGehee School. Art lovers are attempting to raise $190,000 to purchase the picture--painted in New Orleans with a local woman as the model--for the city.
