Scarlet Silks And Cloaks To Go--Vatican sources said today Pope Paul VI has abolished the most lavish of cardinals' garments, including scarlet silks and 9-foot cloaks such as those pictured here at a ceremony of the Sacred College of Cardinals. The sources said the Pope decided on the abolition "as a sign of humility and poverty on the part of the cardinals.
