1957 Press Photo Kidnapped after a cocktail party-housewife Mrs. Esta Ruth Clark

A tall, hulking, powerful salesman with "a pot belly and a receding hairline" was sought today in five states for the kidnapping Sunday of a beautiful barefooted blonde housewife at a New Orleans cocktail party. The case has elements both ominous and bizarre; police said the abductor apparently had a background that makes him dangerous.
