Behind a safety window - a plate glass water-filled tank two feet thick - a nurse acts as a patient taking treatment for cancer under a unit containing 50 grams of radium in the Roosevelt hospital in New York. The unit is the largest in America and employs an entirely new principle in treating cancer by radiation. The complete mechanism is called the radium beam projector.
