Description
J. Marshall Brown (left) of New Orleans and Edward M. Carmouche of Lake Charles are pictured at the state capitol in Baton Rouge Friday as they took leading parts at a meeting of the Democratic State Central Committee. Brown, supporter of Governor John J. McKeithen and national committeeman, led the "loyal" Democrats to a victory over the forces led by Leander H. Perez. Carmouche led the move to hold the election of electors in November over the bid of the Perez group for an August election.

Photo is dated 1964.

Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches.
