1968 Press Photo Safety medals packaged to be awarded to Safety Patrollers

Mrs. Ferdinand J. Cefolia (left), Mrs. Reno J. Daret Jr., and Mrs. Joseph L. Meyer Jr package safety medals. School safety play a major role in safety in the city. Thousands of these safety minded students give their time and attention to help safeguard the lives of their fellow classmates. Some 3,000 will be decorated with safety medals by the Metropolitan New Orleans Safety Council in two ceremonies at the Famous theater, both opening at 9:30 a.m. Safety medals will be presented to public school safety patrolmen Saturday. Parochial and private school safety patrolmen will receive their decorations the following Saturday - May 25.
