Sleeper Hit' Drama Of Middle America To Open At Saenger-Orleans - An unheralded, low-budget film drama titled "Joe" is becoming one of the most discussed pictures of the year. Peter Boyle, above, appears in the title role as a factory worker who is being taken as a symbol of one force in the recent hard hat vs hippie confrontation. "Joe" will open Wednesday at the Saenger-Orleans Theater. The Cannon Releasing Corporation presents a Cannon Production, "Joe," produced by David Gil and directed by John Avildsen. Joe Curran (Peter Boyle) reads the paper while on the way to work.
