1974 Press Photo Raymond G. Burkart, former engineer with Public Belt Railroad

Raymond G. Burkart has retired after thirty-seven years as an engineer with the Public Belt Railroad. At a brief farewell ceremony held at the engine terminal, Lyons and Tchoupitoulas Streets, Burkart was presented a handmade "art plaque" of a steam locomotive and tender. It was made by A. F. Wolf of the United Transportation Union.
