U.S. Representative Hale Boggs (Democrat-Louisiana) told the Louisiana Motor Transport Association Saturday that he is opposed to increasing user taxes on the highways, while the association voiced its own opposition in the form of a resolution. Boggs said any objective study shows that the trucking industry is paying its share of the cost of building highways.
