Description
At Head of Passes below New Orleans, the Mississippi fingers into three channels and slows down. In an effort to keep the river flowing, the Corps of Engineers uses the Vicksburg model (below) to duplicate and study activities at the river's mouth. Vicksburg, Mississippi.
