The Float From which Peter S. Latino Sr. fell 35 feet to the railroad tracks below lies where the wind blew it onto the railing of the Jefferson Davis Parkway overpass during the Krewe of Carrolton parade Sunday afternoon. The float toppled when it was hit by winds estimated by the U.S. Weather Bureau at more than 70 miles an hour. Latino, 52, 17 Hawk Street, was taken to Charity Hospital in a police emergency unit, was listed in critical condition there Sunday night.
