Hugh Stewart, leader of the Earl Long forces in the Eight Ward, was sworn in today was state Marshal to succeed Campbell Palfrey. The oath was given in the marshal's office in Civil Court Building by State Senator Frank Gipson. The appointment was made by Governor Long last week.
