1964 Press Photo Austin Shattles & George Bone inspect refuge for poaching signs

Austin Shattles (left), manager of the Red Creek area, and George Bone, chief warden for Southeast Mississippi, inspect the refuge to see if they can find any signs of poaching. A dozen does and a lone buck graze peacefully on a feedlot hidden away in the Mississippi Game and Fish Commission's Red Creek Wildlife Management Area. Suddenly an automobile drives up the winding graveled road which passes alongside the feeding grounds. The vehicle stops; its occupants alight.
