Description
Plans for a German Seaman's House are examined by the Reverend Fritz Winckelmann, left, and Karl Paschke as efforts get underway to find a site for the center which would give German seamen a place for recreation and obtain information about New Orleans. The Reverend Winckelmann is seamen's pastor and present pastor of the St. John United Church of Christ. Paschke heads a new corporation seeking a site. He said West Germany is the No. 2 trading associate for this port and that nearly 300 German vessels call here each year.

Photo is dated 1967.
