Korczak Ziolkowski, Sculptor, with Model of Crazy Horse. Korczak Ziolkowski, sculptor, displays a scale model of his statue of Sioux Indian Chief Crazy Horse. Atop a high peak in South Dakota's Black Hills, it will be the world's largest sculpture when completed, it will measure 641 feet long and 563 feet high. A powerful leader of his people, Crazy Horse masterminded the strategy at the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876. General George Custer and his command of U.S. Seventh Cavalry were annihilated by Sioux warriors. The project has been financed by voluntary contributions.
