Inside the meeting place, Austin W. Wilson Jr. (at microphone) and Charles Hemenway preside. The meeting was held Tuesday to rally support of teachers behind the state Legislature. Wilson said about 130 teachers attended. Wagner, scheduled to speak, left the meeting claiming the group "was not a representative segment" of teachers. A group of teachers voted to ask the Legislature Tuesday to poll Orleans parish public school teachers on their "loyalty" to either the Legislature or the Orleans parish school board.
