My American friends knew I was hungry for Chinese food so they took me out for a Chinese meal. It was kind of them and I appreciated their hospitality. At the table, one of them asked me if I like chow mein. Of course, I did. Chow mein is a Chinese favorite. We prepare chow mein in various ways--with pork, beef, shrimp, fish, chop suey...Two friends of Stella Pui-hang Wu, Ovis W. Ellzey, Jr. and Judith Nesom, sample some of her chow mein, prepared in fashion to which the Chinese girl was accustomed at home in Hong Kong.
