Editor M. A. Wolcott is a newcomer to New Iberia, and sees it in a state of changeover. "I understand," he says, "that this used to be one-crop country around here, everybody, farmers, retail businessmen - depending on a good cane year. Wolcott took over the Daily Iberian a year ago. He feels that he came at just the right time - "when farming and industry are both progressing."
