1961 Press Photo John Wigington accepted post with U.S. Agriculture Department

John T. Wigington, prominent for many years in the cotton manufacturing industry, has accepted a post as adviser to the Southern Utilization Research and Development Division of the United States Department of Agriculture on its cotton utilization research program. Mr. Wigington is now director of the Division of Technical Service for the American Cotton Manufacturers Institute Incorporated at Clemson, South Carolina. He received his B.S. in Textile Engineering at Clemson College and subsequently spent nine years in the textile industry in positions from trainee to superintendent of a spinning and weaving mill.
