Build elsewhere about 1790, the house now stands on a hill at Alice Plantation, Jeanerette, Louisiana. It looks down on Bayou Teche, a stream with which it is more familiar than most houses are, having made a trip on it. The house is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Roane, Jr.. That's Roane, with his dog, Mike, strolling in front of it.
