The danger of rabies has almost been eliminated by the use of animal vaccine, being administered at left, and successful programs to keep stray animals off the streets in most cities, right. Rabies is no longer much of a threat on city and suburban streets, but danger still exists for children playing in the woods. Also, with the hunting season in full swing, hunters are more likely to be bitten by an animal that is rabid.
